The resistance of a wire and its dimensions
In this interactive simulation students can vary the material (copper, iron or tungsten), the lenght and the cross-section of a conductor and obtain the overall resistance. From here they can infer the general rule. There is also a class activity on variable resistors and nonlinear resistors. By watching the animations, students can listen to specific vocabulary about electricity.
